Is the Jacob School accredited?
Yes. The Jacob School is accredited by the Private Schools Accreditation Alliance, recognized in 50 states.
Will my child's credits transfer to other high schools?
Yes. Your child's credits will transfer to any high school in the United States. Our curriculum is based on the Florida Sunshine State Standards as endorsed by the Florida Department of Education. As such, your child's course work encompasses the same content as that of a public school education.
Will my child receive a standard high school diploma?
Yes. If your child graduates from The Jacob School, your child will receive a standard high school diploma that is the private school equivalent to a standard public school diploma. The required coursework for graduation from The Jacob School is exactly the same as the coursework required to graduate from a Florida public school.
Can my child get into college with a diploma from The Jacob School?
Yes. We currently have graduates at private liberal arts colleges, such as Flagler College in St. Augustine, and Florida community colleges, such as Seminole Community College. If your child is seeking entrance into a highly competitive college, he or she can take the SAT II Subject Tests (in addition to the SAT I Reasoning Tests) to demonstrate mastery of specific subjects like English, history, mathematics, science, and language.
Will my child be eligible to receive the Bright Futures Scholarship Award?
Yes. The Jacob School is registered with the Florida Department of Education and meets the criteria for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Award at the Gold Seal level. If your child meets the GPA and testing requirements, your child can earn this award. Many of our former students are attending college paid for by the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
Will the United States Armed Forces accept a diploma from The Jacob School?
Yes. The Jacob School is recognized as a Tier One school, the highest ranking, by the United States Armed Forces. We currently have former students serving our country in the Army and Navy.

The Coalition of McKay Scholarship Schools Membership
The Jacob School is approved by the Florida Department of Education to accept the John McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities. We are also members of The Coalition of McKay Scholarship Schools. This is an organization of non-pubic schools that accepts students receiving funding through the McKay Scholarship program, and individuals who are committed to keeping the McKay Scholarship Program a viable choice for parents of students with disabilities in Florida.
